On July 8, 2025, the Department of Mechanical Engineering (DME) celebrated its newest batch of graduates during the College of Engineering Recognition Rites held at the University Theater.
The afternoon session featured graduates from the BS Mechanical Engineering (DME) program, along with their fellow students from BS Computer Science (DCS), BS Electrical, Electronics, and Computer Engineering (EEEI), BS Geodetic Engineering (DGE), and the Artificial Intelligence (AI) Program.
The ceremony was graced by Public Servant Benjamin Magalong, who delivered a powerful and inspiring keynote address. Refusing honorifics, Magalong spoke as a fellow Filipino committed to nation-building. His message resonated with the young engineers in the room, calling them to lead with integrity and courage in whatever path they choose.
“You are what this country needs—not tomorrow, but today.”
“Hindi kayo powerless. Hindi kayo voiceless. You are exactly what this country needs.”
“The Philippines is replete with smart people. What is hard to find are Filipinos with integrity and honesty.”
The Recognition Rites served not only as a celebration of academic achievement, but also as a call to action—reminding graduates of their responsibility to society as problem solvers, innovators, and leaders.
The DME faculty, together with friends and families of the graduates, applauded the Class of 2025 as they stepped boldly into the next chapter of their lives.

Congratulations, Class of 2025! Dugong Isko, Pusong Mekanikal.
